Here are our contenders...

Weds, March 6, 1985 - Norwich 2 Ipswich 0

The Tractor Boys had won the first leg of the League Cup semi-final at Portman Road but John Deehan's deflected effort levelled the tie in the first half, with a Wembley final on the line on derby day. Then Steve Bruce wrote his name into Canaries folklore with a thumping header at the Barclay end in the 86th minute to spark the celebrations.

Weds, March 24, 1993 - Norwich 1 Aston Villa 0

The title race in the inaugural Premier League season had reached crunch time, with a top-of-the-table clash at Carrow Road setting up a huge match, settled by the unlikely goal-scorer of defender John Polston in the 81st minute. An Ian Crook corner was headed goalwards by Gary Megson at the River End but saved, only for Polston to gleefully poke in the loose ball and send City back to the top of the table with six games remaining.

Weds, Sept 15, 1993 - Norwich 3 Vitesse Arnhem 0

Although the Canaries missed out on the title, third place did tee up a first ever European campaign and it started in style with a comfortable win over Dutch side Vitesse in the first leg of the first round. Efan Ekoku opened the scoring in the 53rd minute and goals from Polston and Jeremy Goss within the next 20 minutes teed up progress in the Uefa Cup, with the second leg a 0-0 draw.

Weds, Nov 3, 1993 - Norwich 1 Bayern Munich 1

That progress brought arguably the greatest victory in Norwich City history when Mike Walker's team gloriously won 2-1, becoming the only British team to beat Bayern Munich in the Olympic Stadium. The tie wasn't won yet though and after Adolfo Valencia had equalised in just the fifth minute at Carrow Road, the aggregate score was tied at 2-2. Enter that man Goss again, turning in at the Barclay end in the 51st minute after Chris Sutton had flicked on a Mark Bowen cross from the left, to seal the club's finest hour.

Sat, April 9, 2005 - Norwich 2 Man Utd 0

Hopes of survival were looking bleak for Nigel Worthington's team after five defeats on the spin but goals from Leon McKenzie and Dean Ashton would spark a late run of form which so nearly saw City escape trouble. Gary Neville, Rio Ferdinand and Paul Scholes all started for the visitors and Sir Alex Ferguson threw on Wayne Rooney, Cristiano Ronaldo and Ruud Van Nistelrooy to try and save the game, but goals in the 55th and 66th minutes sparked a party atmosphere.

Sat, Nov 28, 2010 - Norwich 4 Ipswich 1

From the doldrums of League One and financial uncertainty, Paul Lambert had breathed fresh life into the Canaries with a title triumph. Belief of another promotion challenge really started to grow after a Grant Holt hat-trick and a fourth from Wes Hoolahan left Town humiliated in a match screened live on BBC One.

Mon, April 25, 2011 - Norwich 3 Derby 2

"Time's up, the place is going bananas," roared Neil Adams on the Radio Norfolk commentary, as the Snake Pit piled forwards in celebration after Simeon Jackson somehow scrambled in a winner in the sixth minute of injury-time, deflecting a Russell Martin shot into the net after a Henri Lansbury corner, to keep City's promotion push firmly on track.

Sat, May 16, 2015 - Norwich 3 Ipswich 1

It's the Suffolk boys again - and another second leg success for City. Town had battled well for a 1-1 draw at Portman Road and even hit back quickly to cancel out Wes Hoolahan's penalty, after Christophe Berra had purposefully handled on the line and earned a red card. Nathan Redmond's strike and Cameron Jerome poking home capped a manic second half, as Alex Neil's team sealed a trip to Wembley for the play-off final.

Sat, Apr 27, 2019 - Norwich 2 Blackburn 1

A season of wonderful moments at home was continued by a triumphant night, as Daniel Farke's side sealed their unexpected promotion in style, with a packed out Carrow Road desperate for a win in front of the TV cameras amid a tense title race with Leeds and Sheffield United. Mario Vrancic was the man of the moment, blasting home from over 25 yards in the 21st minute to add to Marco Stiepermann's early opener, sending the home faithful wild as the Premier League moved into view.

Sat, Sept 14, 2019 - Norwich 3 Man City 2

The hosts were being offered at 22/1 to win by some bookmakers, amid a horrible injury crisis which had seen Farke name two keepers among his substitutes. The Canaries put in a performance packed full of determination and ambition to leave the reigning champions shell-shocked though, sticking to their attacking principles and earning their rewards. Goals from Kenny McLean and Todd Cantwell had sparked jubilant scenes and Teemu Pukki restored that hope at 3-1 after Sergio Aguero had pulled a goal back. Rodri did set up a nervous finish with a late strike for the super-rich visitors but a desperate defensive effort saw Norwich cling on for a victory which was celebrated like a title win.
