Our Norwich City correspondent Paddy Davitt has posted his marks following the Canaries' latest away defeat.

City fans have been voting since the final whistle and this is Paddy’s verdict on Alex Neil’s troops.

• John Ruddy

Excellent early parry from Cauley Woodrow. Exposed twice by defensive abdication from the men in front. 6.5

• Steven Whittaker

Goal-saving block to thwart Woodrow. Could not get around on the cover quickly enough to halt the same player from opening the scoring. Miscue inadvertently earned him an assist for Cameron Jerome’s headed goal. 6.5

• Russell Martin

Quality finish from the composed Michael Kightly but the captain was beaten too easily in the build up following Woodrow’s ball over the top. 6.0

• Timm Klose

Dominant and aggressive for the first 24 minutes. Then a completely avoidable error of judgement near his own byline that tipped this game in Burton’s favour. Unacceptable from a player of his pedigree. 5.0

• Mitchell Dijks

Found Marvin Sordell in the mood to mix it physically. Plenty of effort but few signs of any burgeoning partnership down the left with compatriot Yanic Wildschut. 6.5

• Jonny Howson

Late dipping half-volley his best moment. None of the fireworks from the previous weekend against Nottingham Forest. Unable to find the space to inflict any real damage with Burton’s high press congesting those midfield areas. 6.5

• Alex Tettey

Aggressive, energetic. Trademark wild shot in the first-half but one of the better operators in City colours. Vocal encouragement to his team mates was audible throughout in the tight confines of the Pirelli Stadium. 6.5

• Jacob Murphy

Another shift spent largely on the periphery. Albeit it was difficult for City’s attacking threats to get into the game. Replaced at the interval. 6.0

• Alex Pritchard

Uncanny echo of Barnsley, away. The ball spent more time in the air than on the floor, which dramatically reduces Pritchard’s creative effectiveness. 6.0

• Yanic Wildschut

One early burst inside two Burton players but no end product. A worrying theme in his early Norwich career. 5.5

• Cameron Jerome

Fine adjustment to head home Steven Whittaker’s miscue for a fifth goal in seven. Went close in the first-half but a diabolical lack of quality service from his team mates. 7.0

City substitutes

• Wes Hoolahan 6.5

Late shout for a penalty turned down but certainly pepped up Norwich following his half-time arrival. Which wasn’t saying much for those first-half productivity levels.
