Gary O’Neil is ready to stay and help Norwich City back to the Premier League.

ESPN claimed on Thursday afternoon O’Neil is prepared to sign a fresh deal with his existing Carrow Road contract expiring this summer. The 33-year-old emerged as a key figure alongside Jonny Howson in central midfield over the second half of City’s failed campaign. Neil made it clear recently he would be keen to keep O’Neil at Carrow Road beyond his existing deal.
“I am happy at Norwich and I would be open to the idea of extending my stay at the club,” O’Neil told ESPN FC. “I have enjoyed my time at the club and I am determined to try and help the club win promotion back to the Premier League next season.”

A number of clubs have reportedly been monitoring O’Neil’s situation. The midfielder has made over 400 league appearances in his career to date and won promotion to the Premier League four times in his career with Portsmouth, West Ham United, Queens Park Rangers and Norwich.
