Norwich City have reportedly agreed a £1m deal which would see Declan Rudd join Preston North End.
The Sun are reporting the 26-year-old is set to join the Lilywhites, where he enjoyed a successful loan spell during the 2013/14 campaign.
The Canaries triggered a one-year option at the end of the season and Rudd revealed he had hoped for a clean slate at Carrow Road after spending last season on loan at Charlton.
However, the arrival of Angus Gunn on a season-long loan deal from Manchester City means he is unlikely to be first choice under head coach Daniel Farke next season.
Preston boss Simon Grayson has always been an admirer of Rudd, who is said to be on his way to the north west to discuss personal terms.
Former Norwich season ticket holder, Rudd, had always dreamed of being City’s number one but knows that at 26 he can ill-afford yet another season sitting on the bench.
