Norwich City rumour mill: Jose Mourinho wants to take Ben Godfrey to Spurs

New Tottenham boss Jose Mourinho is lining up a January bid for Norwich City defender Ben Godfrey, according to reports.
Godfrey looks set to be on a number of radars when the window opens and Football Insider claims Spurs have already made enquiries about Godfrey early in the summer window before he signed a new five-year deal in June.
They say a Tottenham source told them "that the club are continuing to keep close tabs on Godfrey, 21, and he is firmly on their radar ahead of the upcoming window".
The report says Godfrey is valued at between £20m and £25m by the Canaries and there is logic behind the claims, given the Londoners seek replacements for centre-backs Toby Alderweireld and Jan Vertonghen.
However, City would be reluctant to sell Godfrey given the way he has established himself in the team.
And sporting director Stuart Webber made it clear after the recent AGM that the club is not in a position where it has to sell in January.
"Our plan is not to sell anyone," he said. "No conversations about selling players have taken place. You have to respect every offer that might come in but for the first time in our tenure myself and Daniel are working without a gun to our heads.
"But every player in the world has a price, whether it is Liverpool, Real Madrid, Norwich or Accrington."
