380 appearances/14 goals

Bernard Cecil Robinson spent his entire playing career with Norwich City.

The half-back, born in 1911, made his debut in 1932 and played his last match in March 1949 against Ipswich at Carrow Road.

Like many others, his career was interrupted for six years by the second World War. Robinson was part of City’s 1934 Division Three (South) Championship in 1934 and was considered an expert penalty taker. He died in November, 2004.

Robinson played at The Nest for the first four years of his career and ocne said: “It should never have been a football ground and I was glad to get away from the place – it was a wicked ground. At one end of the ground it just went straight up and to stop all the earth coming down on to the pitch they had a huge cement wall. It was five or six feet from the touchline so wingers had to be careful.”
