Some City fans have been left disappointed as they fail to get Liverpool game tickets despite advance preparations.

Queues had been forming at the box office before its opening time of 9am as fans tried to secure away premier members for the first Premier League match of the season, away at Liverpool on Friday August 9.

Early this morning, one Twitter user said that the queues were "big" while another Twitter user anticipated a "ticket scrum".

And they were right -as now many fans have been left without tickets after they sold out in around 40 minutes.

It wasn't just queuing fans either as Stephen Farrow, from York, waited forty minutes in the online queue - only to narrowly miss out.

He said: "I logged in at 9am and thought my chances were fairly good. I waited 40 minutes until I got to the head of the queue when my browser refreshed and I found out the tickets have been sold out."

He has sent an email to NCFC to voice his disappointment.

He added: "I'm sure there will be other supporters who are equally disappointed that the ticketing system has failed us."

Others, however, jumped to NCFC's defence and said that losing out on tickets is the nature of a popular football club

General tickets were due to go on sale on Monday July 29.
