Our latest Norwich City player watch followed the fortunes of striker Jordan Rhodes, with David Freezer keeping a close eye on the loanee during the 4-3 defeat to West Brom in a Carrow Road thriller.

Loan striker Jordan Rhodes opened his Norwich City goal-scoring account but also missed a costly penalty during the Canaries' dramatic 4-3 loss to West Brom.

Here's how the 28-year-old's Carrow Road debut unfolded...

5 – Tackles Harvey Barnes on the edge of City's box.

7 – Grant Hanley bursts forward and tries a little chip through but his pass has too much on it for the striker to reach.

18 – Moritz Leitner floats a cross over from the left but Rhodes just can't reach on the stretch with just the keeper to beat.

23 – Kenny McLean finds Leitner and he hooks a ball over the top to Rhodes but the ball just won't sit for him and he can't put it through the keeper's legs at close range, seeing a massive chance slip away.

24 – GOAL – Teemu Pukki's lovely looping pass to Onel Hernandez on the left results in the winger's shot being kept out on the line but Pukki keeps it alive at the back post and Rhodes rams the ball in from six yards to put the hosts 1-0 in front.

31 – Up to win a Krul goal-kick ahead of Kyle Bartley, Pukki claims the ball and City counter ends in Ivo Pinto shooting over.

37 – PENALTY MISS – Alex Tettey robs Bartley Hernandez is brought down by Chris Brunt but Rhodes rolls the spot-kick weakly to the right and the keeper guesses right to keep the score at 1-1.

54 – McLean plays Pukki into the right channel, who does well to cross to Rhodes, who pokes a low shot from close range but Johnston manages to get down and smother the ball on his line.

63 – Takes possession from Hernandez on halfway and gets lucky as his pass deflects off Matt Phillips but Leitner clears.

78 – Hernandez crosses from the right but Rhodes can't climb high enough to turn the ball goalwards with his head, Pukki keeps the chance alive and tests Johnstone at his near post.

88 – Leitner's fine cross from the right is headed back across goal by Grant Hanley, with City trailing 4-3, and Rhodes chucks himself through the air but can't make contact for a late equaliser.

Verdict: Plenty of positives and a real presence, leading the line as a proper striker, but two costly misses. The one-on-one was wasteful, the poor penalty was so costly but his poacher's instinct grabbed his first Canaries goal.
