As Norwich City finally put to bed their winless run in the EFL Championship and at Carrow Road, Michael Bailey dishes out his video verdict and ratings following the Canaries’ 3-1 home victory over Sheffield Wednesday.
Second-half goals from James Maddison, Timm Klose and Nelson Oliveira’s injury-time penalty provided the perfect response to a difficult first half.
Daniel Farke’s side had found themselves 1-0 down at half-time thanks to Jordan Rhodes’ cute opener – an Owls goal that left a disgruntled Carrow Road ready to burst.
However, the Canaries turned the live Sky Sports game on its head after the interval.
Alex Pritchard – starting for the first time this season following injury – made the equaliser that Maddison took in his stride, before Klose’s bullet header dispatched Maddison’s corner.
Oliveira was then on hand from 12 yards after Harrison Reed was dumped to the floor by Barry Bannan, in a last-minute counter.
City headed into the game on a run of seven league games without a win, losing 3-1 last time out at high-flying Cardiff – despite taking the lead in south Wales.
The Canaries were also without a home win since the start of September, while Saturday’s visitors had recorded just five shots on target in their four fixtures last month – although Gary Hooper scored twice in their 2-2 home draw with Hull at the weekend.
Daniel Farke’s side head to another play-off contender in Leeds United next Saturday (3pm), before a run of five games City will ear-mark to make up some of their current points deficit.
