Pre-season continued in Bedfordshire for Norwich City this afternoon, with a fifth friendly of their Premier League preparations, against Championship new boys Luton Town.

Daniel Farke's Championship title winners suffered their first defeat of pre-season in midweek, losing 3-1 to another ambitious Championship side, Brentford, in a behind-closed-doors game at Colney.

With the second-tier teams a week ahead in their preparations ahead of their season starting on the weekend of August 2-4, with League One champions Luton hosting Middlesbrough on the opening Friday night.

Graeme Jones' team complete their preparations against the Premier League new boys (3pm kick-off), who face European champions Liverpool on the opening night of the top-flight campaign on Friday, August 9 (8pm).

The clubs met in pre-season last year as well, when Emi Buendia and Tim Krul made their pre-season debuts and Grant Hanley, Jordan Rhodes and Teemu Pukki scored the goals as City won 3-1.
