Ignore the noise – Norwich City are on the brink of something special and Mario Vrancic cannot wait for the three shots at sealing the deal.

While it’s been far from plain sailing in the Championship leaders’ three successive draws, leaders they remain – a maximum of five points away from sealing promotion and the title, with an Easter Monday trip to Stoke (3pm) first up.

And City will head there 11 games unbeaten thanks to Vrancic’s stunning late intervention against Sheffield Wednesday, and buoyed by the prospect of what is potentially to come.

“We are very focused and sometimes you just can’t play as convincing as we have a done a few times this season,” said Vrancic.

“Every opponent is different but honestly we are very focused, we don’t have any fear that we are going to miss that big chance.

“I mean, we are in an amazing position now and it’s up to us. We have three games to go and we need to settle down to recover from Friday. The next one is just a few days later and we need to refocus, analyse Stoke as well as possible.

“It’s a quick turnaround. Stoke are a big team with big names, so let’s see. We are aware it’s not done yet – but I’m really looking forward to the last three games.”

MORE: Norwich City 2-2 Sheffield Wednesday – How the Championship unfolded Keeping such focus would prove no mean feat given the prize on offer – the cliched dream of Premier League football is just that, because so many players would love for it to happen.

“It’s why I came to England – to play in the Premier League, to try to get promotion with my club. It would mean a lot. A dream for every player. And also for the supporters, we are trying to give them something back.

“To be honest, I haven’t paid a lot of attention to Sheffield United or Leeds. I can only talk about myself and I’m just focusing on us, on our performance and we have it in our hands. We just need to focus and not care that much about those two clubs.”

Whatever Norwich City do achieve this season, Vrancic has played a key role throughout the campaign – including on Good Friday.

“I scored also at Leeds two goals, also in a very important game when we brought three points back,” he added.

“This is crunch time now and it seems important – but every goal is important. Like my penalty late against Wigan at home, back in October I think.

“But Friday’s goal does seem to be one of the most important, especially in this crunch time. It’s a nice habit to be scoring these goals. What should I say – it’s my job, right?”
