John Ruddy plays his 243rd and final Norwich City game on Sunday against QPR - and we want City fans to say their goodbyes ahead of his Carrow Road farewell.
Ruddy was the highest profile casualty among the seven players released by sporting director Stuart Webber earlier this week.
Interim chief Alan Irvine revealed on Thursday Ruddy is desperate for one final hurrah before calling time on his seven year City career. It is sure to be an emotional occasion for the 30-year-old and his family after playing a key role in all the highs and lows during the club’s recent history since his arrival just after the League One title success in 2010.
Ruddy was part of two Championship promotion winning sides before establishing himself as one of England’s best keepers during a Premier League spell.
The St Ives’ man was a regular in Three Lions’ squads but cruelly missed out on a place at Euro2012 when he suffered a training ground injury. Ruddy did make his one and only England appearance at the end of that summer, when he kept a clean sheet in a 2-1 friendly win over Italy.
Norwich’s number one spurned the advances of Chelsea to stay at Carrow Road but suffered relegation twice from the top flight. Ruddy has also had to fight off challenges from the likes of Declan Rudd and Michael McGovern to retain his place as the last line of defence.
Irvine and captain Russell Martin both led the tributes on Thursday and now we want fans to leave their messages of support. The best ones will appear in Saturday’s Pinkun supplement as part of a special tribute to the big man.
