Sunday sees the first game of the season between rivals Ipswich Town and Norwich City. So, what do you need to know ahead of the game?

When/where

The match kicks off at midday on Sunday, and will be at Portman Road in Ipswich. Police have encouraged both sets of fans to get to the ground early, and the turnstiles and stadium bars will be open from 10:30am.

Transport

Greater Anglia have said that extra train services will be running on the day (although Saturday's Storm Brian alerts may disrupt this), but as always there will still be congestion and road blockades for those arriving by car. Road closures will be in place at various times on Portman Road and on Princes Street at the junctions of Civic Drive, Chancery Road, Chalon Street and Commercial Road, Ranelagh Road and Burrell Road. This will cause disruption for buses and other forms of public transport too.

Safety

Ahead of the game, police have announced that a police helicopter and horses from the Metropolitan Police will be deployed in Ipswich on Sunday. Bag searches will also be taking place too, and there will staggered entry and exit times in place to minimise the risk of bottlenecks and general congestion. Officers will also be on hand too if any spectators do encounter any problems.

Pubs

Can't make it to the actual game? Don't worry, there are plenty of pubs around the region that will be broadcasting the rival match. In Norwich, St, Andrews Brew House, The Heartsease, and The Fiveways pub will be showing the game, according to Matchpint. If you're in Ipswich, Issacs on the Quay is your best bet. Sky Sports are covering the match, so any pub with it may also being showing the Championship game too.
