Head coach Daniel Farke has shuffled his deck in pursuit of fresh legs as Norwich City return to Championship action against high-flying Wolves tonight, with Grant Hanley handed his first start.

The Scotland international starts ahead of Christoph Zimmermann alongside Timm Klose in the centre of defence, as one of four changes from the team which started the 2-1 home loss to Derby at the weekend, with James Husband coming in for Marco Stiepermann at left-back.

Marley Watkins also starts as a striker, giving Cameron Jerome a chance to start on the bench after a heavy recent workload, and Mario Vrancic comes into attacking midfield ahead of Wes Hoolahan.

Yanic Wildschut and Nelson Oliveira both drop out of the squad, with Russell Martin back on the bench as cover due to Ivo Pinto’s thigh issue and youngster Todd Cantwell also included as he hopes for his first senior appearance.

Hanley has made four appearance for Norwich since joining from Newcastle in a £2.5million deal at the end of August, all as a substitute.

The visitors have made three changes from their 2-1 loss at QPR on Saturday, with former Canaries defender Ryan Bennett in defence in place of Danny Batth – making just his second league start for Wanderers – and former City number one John Ruddy retaining his place in goal.

The other two changes bring Willy Boly back into the team ahead of Roderick Miranda on the left of Wolves’ three-man defence and Alfred N’Diaye replaces the suspended Romain Saiss.
