Being in charge at Norwich City is just as interesting as being at Barcelona or Bayern Munich for Daniel Farke at the moment.

That's how much the Canaries' head coach is enjoying the challenge at Carrow Road, after working with sporting director Stuart Webber to engineer a thrilling Championship triumph.

The playing style which brought that success has shown early signs of Premier League promise as well, following a dominant 3-1 home victory over Newcastle.

"I had no career plan in football, and I still don't. I never think 'in five years I want to be there, or somewhere else'. For me it's not about looking for a big-money move, or looking for the next step," Farke explained.

"I don't judge things by the name of the club, or which country they're based in. For me the most important is it has to be a really interesting job, and I have to be convinced it's the right place.

"To be successful with a club like Norwich can be more pleasing than being a coach of Barcelona or AC Milan or Bayern Munich.

"I am at exactly the right place, I love being here and I wouldn't want to swap with any other coach in world football. I'm totally happy to be allowed to be responsible for this wonderful club. It is a great honour."

Next up is Europa League champions Chelsea on Saturday (12.30pm), who have made a slow start to life under club legend Frank Lampard, and Farke is sure the Carrow Road faithful have a big part to play in keeping spirits high.

"They will be crucial," the German continued. "We have such a young group of players, and we can't afford to buy players for £20million like everyone else in the Premier League, so it's important to be realistic and humble.

"In terms of finances we are in position 20 in this league, so we have to be together at all times and create something special together."

During an interview in City's matchday programme, Farke concluded: "There will be times during games when giving our all won't be enough to be successful, and that's when we will need to stick together.

"That will also be important for our young players and their mentalities and my feeling is if we stick together we have a good chance to be successful in this league, and the fans will play a crucial role in that."
