Timm Klose had a mixed week in front of goal but Christoph Zimmermann is in no doubt over the centre-back's continuing impact on Norwich City.
Out of contract this coming summer, Klose is closing in on a century of Canaries appearances having taking City so close to victory at Derby – before a luckless own goal condemned Norwich to home defeat against Stoke on Saturday; Norwich's first loss in nine matches.
'I'm still learning so much from him every day and I think it's also very good for me that when it's sometimes hectic on the pitch and very quick, we can also communicate in German – that makes it sometimes easier for me,' smiled Zimmermann.
'Obviously with his quality and experience, there is something you can learn every day in terms of how he behaves, how he's building up the games. That's a very positive aspect for me.
'It's very hard to say what else he could have done with the goal. It's difficult and he's been very unlucky.
'You can always improve in each and every situation. They came quick very the right side, the pitch was wet, a good ball along the ground… I've scored a couple of goals like this and you're trying to get the ball, hit it away from the goal and you don't make the best contact with it.
'Sometimes it goes in and sometimes you save it unbelievably. But I do think it's very unfortunate.
'Normally on the pitch we will talk in German so no one can understand what we are saying! But I didn't need to say anything then. He's normally the one building up the others, but he knows how to deal with it and he did brilliantly.
'I think from that goal on, he won each and every battle, every header. He was brilliant. Sometimes those scenes can affect your game but you just need to make sure from that moment on, you get the best game possible and that's what he did.'
City's Carrow Road efforts saw them applauded off the pitch at the final whistle, despite their defeat.
They sit now sit ninth in the table, and what City fans will hope proves well-placed on the return of Championship action in under a fortnight's time following the season's second international break, when City head to in-form Nottingham Forest.
