Timm Klose is being touted with a potential return to Germany.

The Swiss international is reportedly on a target list drawn up by Bundesliga outfit Hannover 96 to solve an early season central defensive crisis following a cruciate ligament injury to Timo Hubers.

German football web site, Sport Buzzer, report on Thursday morning Klose is being monitored along with former German international Serdar Tasci and Hoffenheim’s Ermin Bicakcic.

Klose started the Championship season alongside captain Grant Hanley at Birmingham City but is out of contract in 12 months, along with fellow defender Ivo Pinto.

Sporting director Stuart Webber made it clear ahead of the trip to St Andrew’s the Canaries would be ready to react to any late drama in the transfer window, but with Sean Raggett and Marcel Franke allowed to depart on loan and Russell Martin out of the picture, Christoph Zimmermann is the only recognised senior back up at Daniel Farke’s disposal.

The deadline for permament signings in England closes at 5pm on Thursday, but City would be able to sell players to overseas markets until the end of this month, with the majority of Europe’s main leagues opting not to follow suit and alter the summer transfer window.
