Canaries' right back Ivo Pinto is being touted with Bundesliga new boys Fortuna Dusseldorf.
Pinto’s future remains a hot topic at Carrow Road with the arrival of highly-rated Borussia Dortmund youngster Felix Passlack on a season-long loan.
The Portuguese defender is set to miss the club’s upcoming German tour with a hamstring problem and with 12 months left on his current deal speculation will only intensify ahead of the new campaign.
German newspaper Westdeutsche Zeitung reported over the weekend claims he was on a Dusseldorf short list were wide of the mark and that no agreement was imminent. The newly-promoted top flight club, who signed City striker target Marvin Ducksch earlier this summer, are in the market for a right-sided option with Genki Haraguchi joining Hannover 96.
City’s top brass, however, face a decision whether to cash in on Pinto or risk the popular defender leaving on a free transfer next year.
Passlack was joined in Norfolk recently by former Wolves wide player Ben Marshall, who can operate at right wing-back, with head coach Daniel Farke describing the 27-year-old as ‘very versatile’ and capable of playing on either side of the defence.
Promising youngster Max Aarons also signed a long-term contract this summer,
Pinto found himself behind Harrison Reed in the pecking order after he returned from a freak injury climbing out of his car last season but insisted towards the end of the campaign he was relaxed about his future.
“Everybody knows I am a happy man here. I have a special relationship with Norwich. I have one year left so no time to rush,” he said.
“My priority is to help the team to become better.
“It is clear to everyone here now that Norwich has started a new chapter. Of course we all wanted things to go better.
“It shows the new season can be better for the club. We can be up there fighting for promotion.”
