Todd Cantwell insists Norwich City will not be dazzled by Manchester City’s stars.

The Canaries' midfielder earned his first England Under-21 cap in midweek in a 2-0 qualifying win against Kosovo's U21s inspired by a brace from Phil Foden.

The Citizens' highly-rated youngster is part of a formidable championship-winning squad assembled by Pep Guardiola that arrives at Carrow Road on Saturday looking to underline their Premier League title credentials.

"They are all brilliant players, obviously people like (Kevin) De Bruyne or David Silva I admire even more because they are players I can relate to, in terms of where they play on the pitch," said Cantwell. "But they have 11, we have 11 so let's go toe-to-toe.

"People are writing us off, as individuals and a team, before a ball was kicked this season so you have to look it as, 'what do you have to lose?' We know what we can achieve. They are all tough in the Premier League. Newcastle was a tough one in the same way we found it tough against both Chelsea and West Ham.

"We were very respectful of the Championship and the players we faced in that league but this league has some of the best players in the world. As a player this is where you want to be.

"Luckily I can say I am."

Cantwell labelled his Young Lions' debut as 'surreal' following a second half cameo that saw him share the same pitch as club mates Ben Godfrey and Max Aarons.

"It was extra-special that myself, Max and Ben could all be out there together. But, yes, a bit surreal," he said. "We are playing together in the Premier League, we are mates, we all get on. Now we are out here playing for England. For the club it shows the faith of the manager back at home to put in us is being rewarded, in the sense we are all representing the country.

"My Mum, my brother and a couple of friends travelled up. It was brilliant they could be there to witness it.

"Is it difficult to stay in the moment? It is and it isn't. I try not to look too far ahead beyond the next game, that is probably the best way to do it. Soak up the praise, try not to listen too much to the outside noise and continue doing what I am doing.

"I just need to concentrate on my own performance, not everything around it."
