Timm Klose is ready to sign up for Norwich City’s exciting Premier League quest.

The hugely popular Swiss international is poised to seal a new Carrow Road deal, following the Canaries' thrilling elevation to the big time.

Klose and his representative have been in talks with the club for months, despite the 30-year-old being touted with moves to the likes of Rangers and Turkish giants Fenerbahçe.

The experienced centre back's current deal is due to run out next month, but the former Wolfsburg defender wants to be part of City's top flight tilt.

Klose's willingness to pledge his future to the Canaries is a huge boost to head coach Daniel Farke, who blocked a potential exit to Hannover 96 12 months ago.

The defender made 31 Championship appearances this season but was also an invaluable member of the squad over the run in, after falling behind Christoph Zimmermann and Ben Godfrey in the pecking order.

Klose certainly has unfinished business with the Premier League. A knee injury cut short an impressive start to his Norwich career, when he was originally signed in January 2016 to try and help keep Alex Neil's squad up.

Norwich have been linked with Brentford defender Yoann Barbet in recent days, as a potential replacement for Klose, but that speculation is believed to be wide of the mark.

Barbet has rejected a new contract offer from the Bees and will leave on a free transfer this summer. The 25-year-old had been touted to Norwich as well as Newcastle United and Aston Villa.

Sporting director Stuart Webber reiterated last week Farke can count on reinforcements, but City will still have to cut their cloth accordingly in the Premier League market.

"We will have the smallest budget in the league. We will spend the smallest amount of money. I can tell you that now," he said. "We have to find a way and keep investing in our staff and young players.

"We don't have the money to weigh up doing what maybe Fulham have done.

"It wouldn't work for us if we brought in a player for £20m who is on a salary double the rest of the squad. That wouldn't fit with our culture and the behaviours we demand.

"If you are a superstar but don't fit us then we don't need you."
