‘I took one for the team’ - Suspended Klose rues FA Cup red card

Timm Klose admitted he may have made the ‘wrong decision’ after being sent off in Norwich City’s FA Cup tie against Manchester United, as he prepares to sit out the Premier League trip to Arsenal.
Klose is suspended for the crunch game at the Emirates after he was dismissed for hauling down Odion Ighalo in the closing stages of normal time during Saturday’s 2-1 extra-time defeat.
The centre back’s absence leaves Daniel Farke facing a major dilemma who partners Ben Godfrey against the Gunners.
“I had to take him down, in football sometimes you have to make decisions in a split second but that was one where was going to go one-on-one with the goalkeeper and the chances are quite high that he could score,” he said.
“I took one for the team, I had to. That unfortunately will affect my situation for the game against Arsenal.
“It would’ve been great if we could come out of the FA Cup with a win, but there are downsides and some positive things you can take out of it, in the end you have to say maybe it was the wrong decision.”
Klose, speaking to the club’s official site, still backs his team mates to get a priceless result in north London.
“I think it’s an interesting game, with no fans in their stadium we have the chance to get something out of the game and hopefully we’ll come back with at least a point but three best case scenario,” he said. “The performances over the last three games went up every game and we played better football.
“I think it’s possible, but you have to be realistic. Arsenal is a good team and they have a lot of quality players and they improved as well after a difficult start.”
