Teemu Pukki admitted fear of Manchester City and a noise like he has never heard before at Carrow Road from Norwich City fans drove Daniel Farke’s side to new heights in the 3-2 Premier League win over the champions.

The top flight's player-of-the-month notched his eighth goal in seven appearances for club and country this season to help sink Pep Guardiola's side.

There was also another assist thrown in for Todd Cantwell's first half finish, in a memorable outing for a number of reasons.

"We knew Manchester City is one of the best teams in the world but if we did our thing, particularly at home, we had a chance to do something special," he said, speaking to Sky Sports. "We were a little bit scared but you could see from the beginning of the game that we did have a chance.

"It helped us build up our belief. They are good but we made it hard for them, we had chances to score maybe one more.

"They had a lot as well but the team defended unbelievably well.

"We did well at home last season but the atmosphere in this game was probably the best I have heard at Carrow Road. It was crazy in some moments of the game.

"It has been an amazing start for me.

"I believed I could score at this level but to score against all these top teams I didn't. It is pleasure to play with these players and I know in every game they will give me a couple of chances."

Kenny McLean notched the other home goal with a superb near post header, and the Scot believes that result will make plenty sit up and take notice.

"We know how good we are in that changing room," he said, on Sky Sports. "There was a lot of talk through the week about the injuries and the task that we had ahead of us. But within the changing room, we knew whoever was on that pitch would have given everything for the shirt and for the fans.

"That's what happened and we got our just rewards.

"The manager has a squad together that he's confident in whoever plays will step up to the plate.

"The ball from Emi (Buendia) was perfect. I usually make that front post run for set pieces and we felt there was a vulnerability in the front post area for Manchester City."
