Daniel Farke delivered the positive fitness bulletin at Colney on Friday afternoon. Tom Trybull has also returned to full training in midweek after ankle and knee ligament damage but will not be considered for the game at Deepdale.

'Onel, much better. He is back in team training, will travel and is able to be involved,' said Farke. Okay, he was out for four weeks or something like this but he is an option. It is sad he had this break because he was in a really good shape. He perhaps need a few days to be back 100pc, but he looked sharp in these last few days.

'He could start but in general he is back in team training only since Tuesday and it is perhaps smarter to have him on the bench. It will be a game full of intensity and perhaps not the best game to come back.

'Tom Trybull has been back in team training for the last two days (since Wednesday) but he won't travel with us as it's a bit early.

'But there's a chance for Leeds and Sheffield to have him back on the pitch, which is really good news as he's such an important player.'

Harrison Reed is fit after being withdrawn with a back problem in the closing stages of last week's 2-0 home defeat to Cardiff but Christoph Zimmermann (quad) is out while Sean Raggett (dead leg) is a doubt.

'Sadly, Zimmermann hasn't been able to train due to a problem with his glute,' said Farke. 'At first we thought it might be quite serious, but it's settled down and we now hope to have him back in team training next week. The plan is he can return next Tuesday or Wednesday.

'We had a few concerns about Sean, because he got a dead leg on Wednesday, and wasn't able to train on Thursday. I hope he can travel because otherwise we would be a bit thin on our centre back positions.

'Harry, all sorted. He was a bit tired for a couple of days but we had a normal week and he is available.'

Marco Stiepermann also returns to the first team set-up after a development outing last Sunday in his first action since a hernia operation.

'Marco played really well the other day, and it's really good to have him back,' said Farke. 'We calmed him down in the days after but he is available. We'll have to see if he's in the squad for Preston as there's a lot of competition on the left-hand side at the moment, and we don't want to rush him back when we're well covered in his area.'

Matt Jarvis and Louis Thompson (Achilles) remain longer term absentees.
