Group Football Editor Paddy Davitt has posted his marks following the Canaries’ 2-1 FA Cup quarter-final extra-time defeat to Manchester United

Here is Paddy’s verdict on Daniel Farke’s men, who pushed their illustrious visitors to the brink of penalties in a brave tilt at FA Cup glory.

• Tim Krul

Must have thought his heroics had teed up another starring role at penalties. Foiled Odion Ighalo, Paul Pogba, Marcus Rashford and a tremendously agile goalline stop from Harry Maguire. 9

• Max Aarons

Much more prominent as a raiding force than in the previous two league games. Also had a very decent tussle with Rashford when he emerged. 7

• Ben Godfrey

Lunging attempt to nick the ball from Bruno Fernandes forced Timm Klose into emergency action that ended in a red card. Godfrey’s flick also dropped for match-winner Maguire. But there was also plenty to admire in some of his athletic blocks. 6

• Timm Klose

Red card for hauling back Ighalo - with Premier League consequences - after an earlier miscued attempt at a clearance teed up the striker. 6

• Jamal Lewis

His most aggressive attacking display for some time. Took up some really advanced positions from the off, albeit missing that end product. 7

• Alex Tettey

Had to drop in to centre back after Klose’s red. Might be needed there again at Arsenal. Used all his nous and experience to make some timely clearances. 7

• Kenny McLean

Fitted Farke’s approach well with City condensing the pitch and trying to deny United’s best creative players space to operate. Disciplined work against the ball. 6

• Emi Buendia

Litle bit of everything. Dragged a very decent angled shot wide in the second half. Carried the fight on the counter early on, but Luke Shaw skipped past him too easily for the opening United goal. By rights, an assist for Todd Cantwell with a slip pass. 6

• Lukas Rupp

Farke hailed it his best in City colours. Looked more comfortable centrally with a brief to break up United attacks. 7

• Todd Cantwell

A fine goal to break City’s collective drought. Swerved a right-footed hit around Maguire from 25 yards. Seemed to relish his central re-deployment before a late injury exit. Injected drive and energy in a problem position. 8

• Teemu Pukki

Still seems to be a touch slower in thought and deed than at his freshest in green and yellow. 6

City substitutes

• Onel Hernandez 6

Has come back into the mix after injury looking to make up for lost time. High energy, high tempo work. Played his part in the City equaliser. Offered some respite as well with his pace when Norwich were under the cosh.

(for Lukas Rupp, 62)

• Josip Drmic 6

Vital role in Cantwell’s goal. Certainly his work carried more overall punch than Pukki’s.

(for Teemu Pukki, 71)
