Nelson Oliveira is again being touted with runaway Championship leaders Wolves.

Wolves and Reading were linked with Norwich City’s top scorer last summer, with Oliveira’s agent Jorge Mendes a key figure behind the scenes at the Molineux club who now look set for the Premier League under fellow Portuguese Nuno Espirito Santo.

The Sun reported on Monday Wolves may test City’s resolve to hold onto the frontman as they prepare for top flight football next season.

Norwich reportedly turned down a £10m enquiry from Swansea City on the final day of the previous transfer window, but the Portuguese international is likely to be in demand over the coming weeks.

Oliveira has scored eight goals in 21 appearances for club and country but has suffered an injury-hit campaign at Carrow Road which threatens his ambition to make Portugual’s World Cup squad.

Oliveira is under contract at Norwich until 2020 and Norwich’s sporting director Stuart Webber made it clear at the club’s recent annual meeting he is under no financial pressure to offload players over the coming weeks.

City’s top brass, however, also reiterated they would have to sell before looking to bolster Daniel Farke’s squad.

Oliveira’s team mate, Cameron Jerome, is being touted with a New Year move. Championship quartet Derby, Cardiff, Birmingham and Sunderland are all reportedly tracking the 31-year-old.
