A much-changed Norwich City ground out a point from a match devoid of almost any quality at the Pirelli Stadium.
Head coach Daniel Farke made six changes to the team which started the 2-0 win at Birmingham on Boxing Day, with Monday’s New Year’s Day home game against Millwall in mind.
James Husband was booked for simluation inside the home penalty area when he burst through in the first half but Alex Pritchard’s run and shot in the final quarter was the first time City came close to testing Brewers’ keeper Stephen Bywater.
Watching Lions’ chief Neil Harris will have learned nothing new from the Canaries’ latest offering, although Farke’s squad have now picked up two consecutive clean sheets ahead of a return to Carrow Road.
City will need no extra motivation to ring in 2018 with a win after a 4-0 humbling in the corresponding Championship fixture.
