Stay humble and stay away from transfer high jinks is Daniel Farke’s advice to Norwich City’s coveted youngsters.

Farke is getting used to deflecting questions around the future of his brightest talent with the transfer window now open.

Just the past seven days brought fresh speculation linking Todd Cantwell with Champions League winners Liverpool, and Max Aarons with the head coach's old club, Borussia Dortmund.

The likes of Ben Godfrey and Emi Buendia have also been no strangers to the gossip columns after some eye-catching Premier League displays.

Farke has made it crystal clear City are under no pressure to sell this month and is confident his starlets will not be distracted.

"It's part of my job to speak with young lads about these sort of topics," he said. "We tell them not to pay too much attention to the speculation or the rumours. You are not a top class player after five or 10 Premier League games or something like that.

"Keep on working because the hard work brought you to into this position.

"It is also up to my experienced lads in the dressing room to reinforce those messages. They keep them grounded, but I must say the character of these young players helps a lot.

"They are quite humble and down to earth so I am not overly concerned these rumours distract them so much. It is a part of the business and they have to learn how to handle this. Sometimes you have to help or give a hint or even on occasion be a bit stricter in certain situations."

Farke wants to keep all his assets but knows a monster offer would take the final decision out of his hands.

"I can resist if I'm honest, but that is more a question for Stuart Webber and the board. In this business you can never say never," he said. "If you get an unbelievable offer for any player and it makes sense from the business point of view then it is possible. But we are all on the same page. We want to keep our best players and no one here is tempted to sell our best players.

"But it is not just up to me to say yes or no.

"Its quite normal rumours are there over the January transfer window and it's also a sign of some good work in developing several really good young players if they attract some interest from bigger clubs.

"I am actually more pleased in that regard we have rumours than we don't because we are doing something right."
