Carlton Morris and Ben Godfrey's Shrewsbury loan stint could include an EFL Trophy final trip to Wembley - although Tuesday's scheduled game against Yeovil has been postponed.

The City starlets will have to try again after Shrews' officials confirmed on Tuesday morning the match is off due to safety concerns, with more sub-zero temperatures forecast nearer kick-off.

Morris and Godfrey are potentially 90 minutes away from facing Lincoln City at the national stadium, as Paul Hurst's squad take a break from a League One promotion push.

Morris was expected to lead the line at New Meadow this evening against the Glovers.

'It's a big opportunity to take another special step for the club this season', said the striker, who has notched eight goals in 39 appearances for the Shrews.

'We've had a good season and it's another opportunity to bring success to the Town, but we can talk about Wembley until the cows come home, but we've got another big game to concentrate on first before we start thinking about that.

'We will definitely be knuckling down to try and get the result whatever the case.

'We've had some good games in this competition and some good draws as well, so hopefully we can go and get the win tomorrow.'

Morris revealed he already has Wembley experience - of the oval sport.

'I went once when I was younger with my school rugby team,' he told Shrewsbury's official site. 'I think we played on a quarter of the pitch at half-time in a game, but that's the only time I've ever played there.

'There are a lot of games played their now, but it's Wembley at the end of the day and it's the national stadium, so any chance you get to play there you have to try and take.

'We will do our intelligence (on Yeovil) and get all our info on their players and the way they play and combat that as best we can.

'It can be hard to play against teams you don't know as much about because they can come up with some surprises, but the gaffer and Doigy (assistant manager Chris Doig) are good at preparing us very well, so we will know what we are coming up against.'
