Bristol City assistant head coach Jamie McAllister insists Norwich City is not a one-man team, although stopping Teemu Pukki is a top priority in Saturday’s Championship promotion showdown.

Pukki moved top of the goal charts in the second tier with a Bolton brace last weekend taking his league tally to 23 for the season. The in form Robins target an eight successive Championship win on the spin at Carrow Road, but McAllister knows the scale of the task.

“A very good team with very good individual players. As a group and as a team they’re performing well, they’re scoring a lot of goals,” he said.

“(Teemu) Pukki, the striker is in form, top goal-scorer in the Championship, I think 23 goals so we’ll have to keep him quiet but they’re not a one-man team. They’ve got great players all over the pitch.

“Both teams in form, we’re in form, they’re in form, makes for a great Championship game on Saturday. I’m sure it will be a full house at Carrow Road and we’re taking along a big support and I’m sure they’ll get behind the players.”

McAllister was part of the last Bristol side to win at Carrow Road ten years ago but recent history is a better guide after a hard fought 2-2 draw at Ashton Gate prior to Christmas.

I’ll say they’re one of the best we’ve played and to keep that consistency up for, what is it? 33 games now? Shows how good a squad they’ve got because it’s such a tough division,” he said.

“We feel as though we can go and cause them problems. We’re on a good run. We’re confident. The lads are in a good place, we’ve got a strong group, and we’ve got injuries coming back as well, a good squad.

“So we think we can go and impose our game on them and we’re going to cause them problems.

“Records are made to be broken. We don’t look too much into that, it’s just the next game, the next game we think we can go and win and if we perform the way we have been then we can.

“It’s a great stadium, I used to love playing there as a player, there’s a great atmosphere, always, at Carrow Road.”
