Norwich City’s Championship promotion rivals Bristol City have made an official request to the Canaries to increase their away ticket allocation for Saturday’s Carrow Road clash.

The Robins have already sold 830 tickets but with none available on the day of the game Lee Johnson’s club announced on Monday morning they have now formally asked the Canaries for a further 500 tickets.

More than 27,000 packed out Carrow Road for the East Anglian derby earlier this month, since when Daniel Farke’s table toppers have had big travelling support at both Preston and Bolton Wanderers.

Bristol City head to Norfolk bang in form, with seven conseuctive league wins catapulting them firmly into the promotion race. The visitors currently occupy the final play-off place, 10 points behind Farke’s men with two games in hand.

Norwich needed a late equaliser from Max Aarons to earn a hard-fought 2-2 draw when the sides met at Ashton Gate prior to Christmas.
