Dons’ Scottish international, Kenny McLean, is in Norwich City’s sights with the Canaries looking to beat Rangers to the punch.
The Scottish Sun report on Wednesday morning, Daniel Farke is a huge admirer of the 26-year-old, after positive reports from City’s scouting network. McLean is reportedly out of contract at the end of this season and indicated he is not interested in signing a new Dons’ deal.
McLean was the subject of a reported £300,000 offer last summer from Rangers and the Ibrox giants were widely expected to land McLean on a free at the end of the current campaign.
The Scottish Sun report Norwich may opt to up the ante in a bid to recruit McLean in this window.
McLean earned his second Scotland cap in November during a 1-0 friendly defeat to Holland and has notched four goals in 25 club appearances for Derek Mcinnes’ side, who lie second behind runaway leaders Celtic in the Scottish Premiership.
The powerful midfielder has been a hit at Pittodrie since joining from St Mirren in 2015 for a reported £175,000 and played alongside James Maddison last season during a successful loan stint for the Norwich starlet.
Meanwhile, City’s Scottish midfielder, Steven Naismith, is poised to seal a loan move to Hearts in the next 48 hours in time for the Edinburgh derby against Hibs.
The Daily Record report the Jambos are keen to offer the 31-year-old an escape route from Carrow Road. Farke confirmed on Tuesday, ahead of Norwich’s FA Cup third round replay at Chelsea, he expected Naismith’s short term future to be resolved in the coming days.
Team mate Russell Martin joined Rangers on a loan deal on Tuesday, while Cameron Jerome completed a reported £1.5m move to Norwich’s Championship rivals Derby County.
