Sam Byram has praised the impact of defensive colleague Ibrahim Amadou after an impressive display from the Sevilla loanee helped Norwich City to shock Premier League giants Manchester City.
The summer signings made their first league starts on Saturday amid an injury crisis which meant Amadou was needed at centre-back, rather than his recognised defensive midfield role.
The duo rose to the occasion during the superb 3-2 win, with Amadou defying his limited English to shine alongside Godfrey, having signed in a £1million loan deal this summer, with a reported £9m permanent switch lined up for if the promoted Canaries avoid relegation.
Asked about the former Lille man's performance, Byram said: "Immense. He's been a central defensive midfielder and I didn't know that he'd played many games at centre-back. He's a big, physical boy and he can play as well.
"I can't imagine how tough it's been language-wise to understand everything that the manager wants us to do but credit to him, he's fitted in there and done unbelievably."

Both fitted in to Daniel Farke's system perfectly despite facing one of the best teams in the world and Byram, a £750,000 signing from West Ham, said his new head coach can take a lot of credit for that success.
"I wouldn't just say it because he's the manager, but of all the managers that I've worked for he's got the most attention to detail in everything around how we play, how we defend. There's a game-plan there," he continued.
"It is really the fine details. When I first came there were days when there were hours of one-on-one meetings, where I had to get up to scratch and learn how he wants his team to play.
"You could see that there were three or four players who came in and everyone's fitted in perfectly. So credit to the manager, the players and his staff for buying into what he wants us to do."

Next up is a trip to Burnley on Saturday, with Sean Dyche's side renowned for their stubborn attitude and direct style.
"If you asked Man City, we beat them, so there are no easy games," Byram added. "It's a completely different test, we'll go back to the training pitch and I'm sure the manager will have a plan for that game, I'm looking forward to it."
