The freezing conditions decimated Saturday's league programme, but Norwich City moved out of the bottom two in East Men's League Premier B with a 3-0 win at Peterborough II.

City's goalscorers were Pete Morgan, Adie Land and Chris Perry as they closed the gap on Peterborough to just one point.

Dereham II kept their promotion challenge alive with a 3-2 victory at Market Deeping in Division 2N.

Dereham dominated the early exchanges, but it took a bizarre goal to break the deadlock. Mark Braybrook's wild clearance from in front of his own keeper flew over the heads of both teams into the opposition circle, where Ian Gibb, attempting to control the ball, got the thinnest of edges past the bemused Market Deeping keeper.

Peter Hazell's mistake gifted the hosts an equaliser, before Dereham keeper Phil Kerridge was beaten from a short corner to give Market Deeping a 2-1 lead at half-time.

Dereham camped in the home side's half after the break and were rewarded with goals from Braybrook and Martin Sexton, both from short corners, to seal the points.

Norwich City IV gained a 3-0 default victory in Division 5NE over Ipswich V, who conceded the game on Friday.

In East Women's League Division 2NE, Sprowston picked up a 2-1 win at bottom club Sudbury.

There were few chances in a scrappy first half, before Sprowston took the lead from a short corner. The initial shot was saved, but Kerry Hamilton tucked away the rebound.

They could not hold on to their lead until half-time however, as Sudbury equalised with a shot which squeezed under keeper Sharon Weeks.

Sprowston picked up the pace in the second half, with player of the match Laura Dewing to the fore and their pressure paid off when Hamilton slotted home her second of the game.

There was a late scare when Sudbury won a last gasp short corner, but Sprowston survived to claim the points.
