Norwich professional Jason Lovett had double cause for celebration after continuing his red-hot form at the oche.
The thrower built on reaching the last 16 of a Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) event in Wigan and qualifying for next month’s European Trophy by winning the men’s single crown at the popular Bully’s Boardroom Competition in Loughborough.
The first-year PDC ace’s joy was further heightened when his partner Roz Bulmer – one of Norfolk’s finest female players – completed the clean sweep by triumphing in the women’s category.
The darting couple almost followed up their stunning success at the weekend’s Cambridgeshire Open. But while Lovett landed another piece of silverware, Bulmer was beaten in her final.
“I had a great week, first winning the Bully’s Boardroom comp in Leicestershire and on Saturday winning the Cambridgeshire Open,” said the man who practices with fellow Norwich PDC player Darren Webster.
“I must say a big thank you to everyone that has supported me. But the biggest thanks goes to my better half – and the love of my life – Roz. I am so proud of her achievements in winning the women’s singles in Leicestershire and for getting to the final in Cambridge. United we stand, divided we fall.”
Bulmer was beaten 4-2 by England international Claire Ball during her battle for glory in Cambs while Lovett hammered Paul Harvey 5-0 to make sure at least one half of the arrows’ lovebirds got their hands on another winner’s trophy.
