Manager Paul Lambert was keeping his feet firmly on the floor despite watching his Norwich City side move three points ahead at the top of League One.

A 3-0 defeat for second-placed Leeds at Swindon meant the Canaries' 2-1 win at Walsall put clear daylight between themselves and the Yorkshire club.

Leeds still have two games in hand on the leaders but an inferior goal difference, while third-placed Charlton are six points behind City with a game in hand after their 1-0 home defeat by Leyton Orient on Monday.

But Lambert insisted he was concerned only with his own team's results.

"All we can do is try to win our games," he said. "There is a country mile to go but we've put ourselves into a position where we're in the mix.

"I always think you've got to get your own house in order first before you look over your shoulder at anybody else.

"There are loads of teams there that are really thriving. But I just think you have to win your games - you can't influence what happens elsewhere."

Defender Adam Drury was the one casualty during last night's victory, lasting just 16 minutes.

"He's got a thigh problem. We hope it's not too bad," said Lambert.
