In-demand Niels-Kristian Iversen is in line for a hectic start to the season.
Dashing Dane Iversen is back with the King’s Lynn Stars after a year out of British racing – and his phone has been red hot.
He’s already accepted an invitation to race in the Ben Fund Bonanza at Peterborough on Sunday, March 18.
And there are more meetings lined up with Poole’s 70th anniversary celebration on Friday, March 23 – he’s also been invited to Belle Vue and Sheffield for big meetings that weekend.
“I’m really looking forward to the start of the season,” said Iversen. “And I’m particularly pleased to lend my support to the Riders’ Benevolent Fund at Peterborough.
“I’ve ridden in the Bonanza three times, though I can’t remember the years. I think it’s always good to help collecting money for injured riders who are going through difficult times. I’m always happy to try and do my part.
“I hope I can bring in some fans from King’s Lynn and I’ve ridden for Peterborough some time ago as well, my most recent season for them was 2010.
“I’ve ridden Peterborough many times and it’s always a pretty fun track to race on. I’m locally based as well so it is very good to start the season with a meeting like that.”
Iversen finished last season on the injured list himself – but he added: “I haven’t had to use the Fund myself but you never know what the future brings!
“It’s a good thing to do the meeting, you’ve got to try and help each other. I always appreciate it if you get some money when you are injured. If we can collect some money and keep the ball rolling then it’s the right thing to do.
“I injured my shoulder in Poland last year. It’s been a pretty rough time but I am on the right path now. I’m aiming to come back strong from the beginning of the season, that’s the only thing that’s on my mind now. I’ll have everything dialled in for the start of the season.”
Others riders racing in the Ben Fund Bonzana include Kenneth Bjerre, Hans Andersen, Bjarne Pedersen, Chris Harris, Scott Nicholls, Ben Barker, Steve Worrall and Jason Doyle.
