The first round of the League Cup saw some closely-fought, tight games.

A single strike from Jordan Rocastle was enough for Riverside Rovers to go through against an ever-improving POW side, whilst goals from Curtis Money and James Olsson and a penalty save from keeper Tom Brown helped Bell Inn to a 2-1 win at Dancing Farmers.

Edith Cavell provided the result of the round as they won 2-1 at Premier Division Aslacton, while Farmhouse had few problems as goals from Shaun Taylor (2), Darren Parnell (2), Matt Plumstead, Tommy Salmon and Tommy Want enabled them to win 7-1 at New Buckenham. Norman Wanderers also scored seven as they beat William Wanderers and Schoolhouse progressed after a narrow 2-1 (Chris Hall, Josh Bull) win at home to Lakewood United.

Costessey West End, from Division 1A, produced a good performance to beat their league leaders Horsford United 3-1 and DEF FC moved comfortably into the next round with a Fionn Goodwin Wright hat-trick amongst the nine goals they scored against Windmill Wanderers. A single goal was enough for Anglian Rovers to go through at Dilham, as was the case for Taverham United at Sporting Longdale. Martin Woolner scored twice and there were goals for Ryan Tebble and Will Callow as Salhouse Rovers went through at the expense of Vale Longo.

In the Premier Division, Acle Rangers missed the opportunity to go back to the top of the table as they were again held to a 1-1 home draw by Poringland Wanderers, the only side to take points off them this season. Elliot Udell scored for the visitors.

Norman Wanderers Reserves moved up to third in Division 2A after a convincing 6-1 victory over Newsman Celtic, whilst Constable Crusaders also collected three points, Brad Adams and Liam Frost scoring as they beat DCS Rapid 2-0. Micawbers Tavern continued their recent good form with another win, this time 2-1 at home to Brooke Reserves.

It's still neck and neck at the top of 2B as the top three all recorded victories. Phoenix scored five (Jamie Smith 3, Spencer Alden, Scott Starling) as they overcame Briston Wanderers, as did Trimingham Pilgrims in their defeat of Binham Village. Silver Fox went one better as they scored six (Matt Cartledge 2, Ian Bowker 2, Luke Gould, Michael Hurst) against Cellar House and all three teams remain locked together on 21 points.

SNS Utd are now two points clear at the top of 3A after scoring 13 times in their game at Westfield and Winfarthing moved into second after beating AFC Westlegate 7-4. Mad Moose Reserves scored five of the eight goals in their game at MC Rovers and Sporting Longdale Reserves continue to climb away from the foot of the table as they beat Freethorpe 2-0. Bunwell AFC failed to build on their first victory the previous week when they were beaten 8-2 at home to leaders Blofield United. Hellesdon remain second on 24 points after an 8-1 win at East Tuddenham, whilst the two other teams on the same number of points also won, Norwich Ceyms, 5-1 (Paul Hudson, Lorimar Hipperson, Shaun Grieveson, Kel Haywood, Matty Sewell) against Sporting Iceni and Sprowston Athletic, 7-3 against Barracks FC. Ben Wright, Jack Flynn and Justin Bradfield all scored in Hethersett Athletic Reserves' win over Harleston Town U21s and there was a welcome victory for North Elmham as they beat Gressenhall FC 4-0.

Attleborough Town's 6-0 victory at Watton United saw them move two points clear of Norwich United who were held to a draw in an eight-goal thriller at Newton Flotman. Stephen Blake 2, Dec Leigh and Lewis Dudley scored for the home side, whilst Liam Mann 2, Will Hatton and Steven Bird replied for United.
