Enthusiasts of the Ford marque will be in heaven at Snetterton this Sunday as an array of mouth-watering demonstrations from the blue oval manufacturer’s history will be on parade at the Norfolk venue.
Topping the list of Ford racing engines will be the iconic Ford Cosworth DFV which celebrates its 50th anniversary this year and powered 155 Grand Prix victories, the first in the back of a Norfolk built Lotus 49 driven by Jim Clark.
The V8 engine will provide the motivation for a McLaren M23, which driven by Emerson Fittipaldi and James Hunt claimed Formula One titles in 1974 and 1976 respectively, and in the back of a Lotus 76 which saw duty during the 1974 Grand Prix season.
Also celebrating its golden anniversary is Formula Ford which has strong links to Snetterton via the world famous Van Diemen cars which won numerous titles across the globe.
Ford’s long standing success in the world of rallying will also be recognised with demonstrations from the stunning Group B RS200 turbo-charged, flame-spitting machine plus Cosworth powered Sierra RS500 and Mk2 Escort’s.
The event, which includes track day action from Ford powered machinery, starts at 9am.
