Norwich Dragons II stretched their lead at the top of the Premier Division of the Empresa League with a comprehensive 5-0 win at Evergreens.

With none of their rivals in action, Dragons will go into the festive break six points clear of second-placed Broadland, with both teams having played 11 games.

The first Dragons' goal was scored by Ally Windsor Waite from a short corner and the second came from the same source, with Hannah Ellis providing the finish.

Dragons made it 3-0 before the break from open play as Lucy Buxton delivered the final ball for Lauren Lawrie to convert.

Evergreens proved difficult to break down after the break, but Dragons increased their advantage with a second goal from Windsor Waite and another from Jess Haw, who calmly slotted the ball past the keeper.

There was a confident debut in the third team for Catherine Matthews.

The other top-flight fixture saw Dragons' fourth team come away from UEA II with an impressive 4-0 win to move six points clear of the bottom two.

Up front, Lisa Harwood, Caroline Wolfe, Trish Hagan and Gina Hunt were a force to be reckoned with, working tirelessly to create four goals between them, with player-of-the-match Hagan scoring twice and Wolfe and Hunt also on target. Aditi Naik was superb on the right for Dragons while goalkeeper Amy Forse turned in another assured performance.

Two matches at a lower level were conceded, with the only other match to be played coming in the Development League where Norwich Dragons Boys B won 1-0 at their Norwich City counterparts.

A number of re-arranged fixtures in the Women's East League were scheduled for Saturday, but most fell victim to the heavy overnight frost. Among the games that were called off were the top-flight fixtures between Cambridge University II and Norwich Dragons and the Division One North games between Lowestoft and Bedford II and St Neots and Watton.

In Division Two North East, Norwich City II were beaten 3-2 at Colchester II, with their goals being scored by Emily Francis and Danni Garwood.
