Hethersett Athletic Ladies beat Barking 3-0 to bring the Eastern Region League Cup to Norfolk for the first time. Three first half goals meant Hethersett had the luxury of being able to coast to victory in the second half. Nikki Wigg turned home a right wing corner in the third minute and 10 minutes later Emily Coates side-footed home. On 34 minutes Jodie Allard weaved her way into the penalty area only to be brought down and Coates slotted home the penalty.
Hethersett captain Jemma Smythe received the trophy from league chairman David Dawson. Afterwards Hethersett coach Tom Parke said. "It will take some time to sink in and realise just what we have achieved this season."
Hethersett can also win the league title if Norwich City ladies fail to pick up enough points to overhaul them in their remaining matches.
