Norwich City could chalk up a notable century as they bid to move a step closer to promotion at Leyton Orient tonight.

The Canaries' next goal will be their 100th in all competitions this season, though they will have to score it without the help of the player with the biggest individual tally.

Grant Holt, skipper and 30-goal top scorer, starts a two-match suspension after picking up his 10th yellow card of the season against Milton Keynes Dons on Saturday. In addition, 14-goal forward Wes Hoolahan, who has missed the last two matches with a thigh strain, is still a doubtful starter.

Oli Johnson and on-loan Stephen Elliott will be the main candidates for Holt's attacking role, and manager Paul Lambert believes that whoever plays can deliver the goals.

He said: 'It's like any player that is on top of their game, you do miss them, that's normal - not just here but anywhere.

'They're two great players, with what they have done for us, but it is a chance for somebody else to come in and keep going.

'I have always had great belief in the others to go and step in and do what they have been doing.'

Johnson's three goals included a matchwinning double against Southend, while Elliott scored twice in the 3-1 win at Huddersfield.

'I said at the time we needed a bit more up front in case anything happened to the lads so that's why we did it. We're a squad and we're a group and we need everybody, we have never wavered from that,' said Lambert.

City have additional injury concerns, with Gary Doherty and Adam Drury suffering knocks on the ankle against MK Dons.

'There are one or two but we just have to wait and see. I can't make decisions on anybody at the minute. I'll leave it until the last minute,' said Lambert, who knows his team are close to securing that promotion spot as they take on new boss Russell Slade's Orient.

'We're in an absolutely terrific position and we will try and finish it. I doesn't matter where - just get over the line,' he said.

'They have a new manager and it's a tough game. They're fighting for their lives to stay in the league and that can be nervy for them - sometimes it's harder to play at home than it is away from home. We will have a terrific following at our back and if we win it we're nearly there.'
