A-list actor Hugh Jackman believes Norwich City are "destined" for Premier League glory.
The actor revealed last week that he is in talks to purchase a stake in the club.
In an interview with The Times, he said: "I know they will win the Premier League; they're destined to win the Premier League.
"When they win it you're going to dig that thing out and go 'I think 85 years ago this guy, some guy, Q Jackman, said they would win it.'"
The Hollywood superstar, best known for playing Wolverine in the Marvel franchise films, says he wants to rival Deadpool co-star Ryan Reynolds, who co-owns fellow Championship side Wrexham.
Jackman - who has links to Norfolk through his mother, who still lives in Norwich – added: “I went to Carrow Road a couple of times, and I love the Canaries, and this is the year we’re going to get promoted. That’s my prediction."
The actor, who was born in Australia, has previously spoken of how he visited his mother a number of times as a child and made a trip to Carrow Road when he was 16.
The club is currently owned by Norfolk Holdings group, headed up by Mark Attanasio.
It is understood that discussions between the club and Jackman, who is said to be worth £100m, have been going on for some time now and that the investment would be into Norwich City and not Norfolk Holdings group.
The Norfolk Holdings group upped its shares in March last year, taking the reins from Delia Smith and Michael Wynn Jones.
It now owns around 85pc of the club's shares.
City were last in the Premier League more than five years ago in 2020, when they finished bottom of the table, having romped home to the Championship title the season prior.
