One player who will provide a welcome boost is Paris Maghoma, who has missed the last four games with a calf problem. Clement confirmed the creative midfielder had returned to full team training and is back in contention for Saturday’s trip to the Steel City.
The trip to the Blades will come too soon for Jovon Makama, who is now back in team training after managing just 45 minutes of pre-season action either side of separate foot injuries, but he is expected to return in the weeks ahead.
Gabe Forsyth (knee) was involved with the Under-21s last week and is set to continue building his fitness with the development side. Mirko Topic (ACL) is a little further behind in his rehabilitation.
Lucien Mahovo (ankle) is out until late autumn, while team-mate Ali Ahmed (ACL) faces a prolonged spell on the sidelines. Elsewhere, Amankwah Forson, Jakov Medic and Liam Gibbs all left Carrow Road on deadline day in search of more regular first-team minutes.
Sheffield United boss Chris Wilder has a number of fitness issues to manage ahead of Norwich City’s visit to Bramall Lane, particularly in the attacking areas. Ryan One and Tahith Chong remain absent, with Wilder confirming after Tuesday’s 3-2 win over Bolton that both are among the injuries affecting his forward options.
Harrison Burrows and Femi Seriki have also been reported as doubts, while the Blades will assess the squad following a hectic midweek victory in which they twice came from behind before Romelle Donovan struck a stoppage-time winner.
The Blades’ transfer window closed with Liam Kitching their only deadline-day addition, the Coventry City defender arriving on a season-long loan to strengthen Wilder’s options at centre-back.
