Johannes Hoff Thorup was left satisfied by Norwich City's bullish approach against Leeds United, even though they had to weather storms.
The Canaries were made to work, but held Daniel Farke's promotion favourites to a draw to continue their progress under the Dane since a crushing opening-day defeat to Oxford United back in August.
Josh Sargent's spot-kick opener put City ahead but Thorup's side had to sustain periods of significant pressure prior to Largie Ramazani's second half equaliser.
City ended the game stronger, but both head coaches were left content with a point after a hard-fought clash. Thorup was left pleased with the front-footed approach from his side, even if he highlighted areas for improvement.
"What I felt before the game when I looked the players in the eyes was that they were really believing that we could get the three points today. That is also what we saw out there," he told the Pink Un post match.
"It was a team fighting to get the three points and not us not believing or just sitting back and hoping for the best. We took our chances knowing that there were moments in the game when we had to defend.
"We were in our low block for maybe a little bit too long but that is how it is against a strong team like Leeds. I am pleased with the attitude from the boys because it was up there as maybe one our best performances so far."
Thorup felt the game panned out as he and his coaching team had initially thought, but felt City's inability to cash in on encouraging attacking situations prevented them from emerging with three points.
"There was so much intensity and so many things going on. The game changed a little bit from time to time - it was Leeds on the ball and on top, then it was us, then it was them and then it was us. Overall, that was as expected," he said.
"After our goal, the next 30 minutes are not good enough in that first half. Still, we managed to get in some good situations and were a threat on the counter.
"We created some situations that could have developed in a big chance with a better final pass or decision at the end. I would have liked a bit more courage on the ball in that period of the game; it was too much of us defending in our half.
"What I saw is that after we conceded the goal in the second half, it was a strong response from the team in the way we want to approach the game."
