Norwich City Women head coach Andy Cook had a sneaky feeling Natasha Snelling would come up trumps against Cambridge United.

The Canaries striker netted a brace as they claimed a routine 2-0 win over the U's, scoring in each half to make it two league wins from two.

Cook told the 31-year-old in the lead-up to the game that it could be well-suited to her, and saw her deliver in the first home game of the season.

"Tash has been vocal with me with how she feels it needs to be working and playing, and I agree with her," he said. "She's a dynamic centre-forward, one I've not really been able to work with over my career.

"She can come right into the middle of the park to receive and then spin, and we can use that well. She gets o the end of crosses well.

"I said to her when we announced the squad this week that I fancied her getting a goal, maybe two, possibly three. So she's managed to repay that and get us two and get us the three points.

"I'm delighted for her just to get off the mark. As a centre forward that's what she wants to do, so we're happy."

Cook has been pleased by the start to his tenure, but believes there's still plenty of room for environment.

"There are definitely areas that we need to improve, like there were last week," he continued, speaking to official club channels. "It's still early doors.

"Toddy (Megan Todd) actually said in the circle that we're now at a point where we're still improving, we're still working, but we've managed to get a couple of victories under our belts. Six points is good.

"We're still wanting to refine a few little bits, but we moved the ball really well. There were some good passages of play in there, and if we can put that together we'll really dominate a side."
