Norwich City look set to face German opposition in a friendly match at Carrow Road in July.
FC Magdeburg – who play in Bundesliga 2 – say they will face City on Friday, July 26.
“It’s a special game, especially for our fans. We are facing a top opponent and are really looking forward to this game,” sports director Otmar Schork told the club’s official web site.
The game is part of the club’s victorious European Cup Winners Cup anniversary - they beat Sporting Lisbon and then AC Milan in the final.
“Unfortunately, our efforts towards AC Milan and Sporting Lisbon have not been reciprocated. We tried to play a game against our previous European Cup opponents," said Schork. “Nevertheless, the test in Norwich with the trip to England is of course also a very special highlight.”
