Jack Stacey is out to avenge his play-off demons as Norwich City’s promotion push ramps up.

The Canaries secured their top-six place despite defeat by relegated Birmingham at St Andrews, confirming a two-legged meeting with Leeds United in the semi-finals.

That means the third play-off campaign of the right-back’s career, having lost in them with Exeter and Luton, and he hopes this attempt is a lucky one.

“League Two, got to the final, unsuccessful, Championship semi-finals, unsuccessful," he recalled. "There are probably loads of stories like that in the squad, and as a personal thing I need to change that record.

“I’ve learned a lot from that. I think that’s one of the good things about our squad, the experience that we have.

“It’s going to be crucial going into this week. You want to go into the game doing all the prep that we would do in a normal game but not let the occasion override you.

“It’s definitely a balance to be able to use the occasion as a positive and not be overawed by it, and I think with the experience we have in the dressing room that’s something we’ll be looking to do.

“Of course [I’m desperate to get a win at Wembley after losing there in the League Two play-offs]. Like I say, my play-off record is two unsuccessful attempts now, so hopefully it’s third time lucky.

David Wagner’s side have been beaten twice by Leeds this season, the first a bruising late victory from 2-0 behind.

Stacey says he and his team-mates have nothing to fear, however, and is relishing a reunion with the Whites.

"They're a very good team," he continued. "Definitely one of the best teams we've played this season.

"But if you look at the two games against them, there wasn't too much in it, especially away from home. We were disappointed at home to throw away the lead.

"I think the two games we've played against them were both good games, and we definitely gave a fight for sure."
