Borja Sainz has taken to Championship football like a duck to water and was the difference maker again in Norwich City's 2-1 win over Coventry.

The Spanish winger curled home the winning goal in the final 10 minutes to push the Canaries within a point of the play-off positions.

It was a moment of magic worthy of winning any contest and acts as further evidence of Sainz's acclimatisation to English football in recent months since his summer move from Turkish side Giresunspor on a free transfer.

Gabriel Sara knows the difficulty of adapting to life in England, having undertaken the process just 12 months previously after moving from Brazil.

He hailed Sainz's application to life at Norwich and knew his shot was going to find the net as soon as it left his right boot.

"To be honest, he didn't need much help in adapting to England. He's a really nice and communicative guy," Sara said.

"He is learning English so quick and his adaptation has been much better than mine was, actually. He is enjoying himself here.

"He is an unbelievable player; if he tries to do that strike for 24 hours, then he will score every time. I think this was a better goal than last week because of the play before.

"I was behind, and when he touched the ball, I was already celebrating because I saw it curl inside (the post). Our team is so capable, and we have some great players. If we keep like this, then we will find a spot in the play-offs and keep moving."

City's win has ignited their hunt for a top-six spot and means they have extracted maximum points from matches against Hull, West Brom and Coventry, all teams currently above them in the table.

This victory came despite Callum O'Hare handing the Sky Blues the lead just after the interval, and Sara believes that mental resolve was a key factor in their comeback.

"It was a great win and a great weekend for us. I think you can tell from the fans that it was really amazing," Sara said.

"We knew the game would be tough because they are a great side, and how we handled this situation was perfect. They scored a goal, but even then, we kept our focus and mindset to keep moving. That is why we won this game."
