Norwich City fans were delighted with both result and performance as the Canaries came from behind to beat Coventry 2-1 at Carrow Road.

Goals from Josh Sargent and Borja Sainz made the difference on a huge afternoon for the Championship play-off race, the latter's late winner sending the City faithful into raptures.

We spoke to some of those Norwich supporters at the stadium to gauge their thoughts on the game, the club's transfer business and hopes for the play-offs.

Willoughby and Harvey: It was a really exciting game. Really enjoyed the first half and thought we played really well. The start of the second half was obviously not what we wanted it to be, but then as soon as the red card happened the momentum really changed.

We kept putting the pressure on after the red card, so it felt like we were guaranteed to score really.

We got the result we deserved, we were all over them for pretty much all of the game. They had opportunities on the break, and Callum O’Hare looked really good, but we dealt with him pretty well. There was a lot of passion in our performance today.

Ashley Barnes was really impressive. He came on and changed the whole game, definitely. Josh Sargent was a really big miss, we do need him. He’s crucial to our chances of reaching the top six.

Sydney van Hooijdonk looked like he had a lot of potential when he came on. He won a free-kick right at the end, and he looks like an absolute unit. That’s a very good signing.

This was a massive game, it felt like, so we can now kick on. If we can show consistency then we’ve still got one of the best squads in the league on paper. The opportunity’s there to be taken, it’s just whether we take it.

If we can stay consistent then we’ll finish sixth, we’ll just sneak in. But who knows? It’s football, you don’t know.

James and Leo: We were really good, then we were average, then we were rubbish, then we were really good again. It seemed to take the sending off to give us the confidence to really properly, push on at them.

But once we did, it felt like we were really the better team and fully deserved three points. Really good win, and hopefully the confidence carries into next week. We had the player in Borja Sainz who could produce that bit of magic and use that bit of extra space to create something good.

There’s still a bit of a confidence issue, but we seemed to get better during the game. We played generally pretty well, we were the better side for most of the game apart from the first 15 minutes of the second half.

Sargent was fantastic. It’s really, really good to have him back, because he leads the line so well. Sainz was really good, especially in the second half when he sort of pushed us on.Angus Gunn made a couple of really important saves when we were 1-0 down. Shane Duffy looked a bit shaky in the first half but seemed to recover. They all did themselves proud.

Three points, onto the play-offs!

Ewan, Paul and Andy: Fantastic game, to be fair. The second half was a lot better than the first half, and the sending off obviously made a difference.

We were worried that we wouldn’t find that second goal, but we are rather pessimistic. That comes with years of experience following Norwich City!

Sainz was very good, Nunez was as well. It was a surprise that he went off, because he was probably the man of the match in the first half. It was shocking when he came off.

We have the squad to get into the top six, but let’s see what van Hooijdonk does, it’s very difficult to judge on three minutes today.

Today’s performance was a step in the right direction, we were far more positive today. If you keep winning you’re going to end up in and around it. There’s no reason why we can’t be there.
