Jonathan Rowe is straight back in the Norwich City starting line-up as they face Bristol City as Ashton Gate this afternoon.

He's recovered from a heel injury to replace Christian Fassnacht, while first-choice goalkeeper Angus Gunn is preferred to George Long for the first time since sustaining a muscle issue in October's 3-2 loss to Leeds United.

Marcelino Nunez is one of five changes made by David Wagner from that Watford loss, coming in for Adam Idah in a second striker position.

Ashley Barnes replaces the in-form Hwang Ui-jo as he did 17 minutes into City's 3-2 defeat by Watford on Tuesday, with the South Korean out of action until around the turn of the year.

Kenny McLean drops into centre-back ahead of Danny Batth and Jaden Warner,  with Liam Gibbs playing at the base of midfield.

Club captain Grant Hanley will resume team training in the coming weeks after recovering from a hamstring setback, while Josh Sargent is doing individual work on the Colney pitches as he recovers from an ankle injury sustained in August.

The American is scheduled to be ready for City's meeting with Huddersfield on 23 December, with Jacob Sorensen and Ben Gibson expected back in similar timeframes.

Former Norwich academy man Anis Mehmeti is on the bench for the hosts, managed by fellow released Colney prospect Liam Manning.
